We’ar sharing a simple recipe for you to make healthy atta cake at home with jaggery powder or shakkar. This recipe is also suitable for vegetarians as it tells you how to prepare an eggless wheat cake with Jaggery Powder instead of refined sugar.

Wheat Jaggery Cake Recipe:
To make a whole wheat cake with jaggery powder you will need only a few ingredients which are usually available in all Indian households.
- Preparation Time – 10 mins
- Baking time – 40 – 50 mins
- Total time – about an hour.
Ingredients:
- Whole wheat flour – 1 cup
- Baking powder – ¼ teaspoon
- Vanilla essence – 4,5 drops
- Butter – ½ cup of unsalted butter or ghee
- Curd – ½ cup
- Jaggery powder – ½ cup or a little more as per taste
Preparation of your new favorite atta jaggery cake:
- Sieve the whole wheat flour and baking powder into a mixing bowl.
- In a mixer jar add butter and jaggery powder and mix well.
- Add the curd to this mix and let it mix for another minute. If the mix is too thick you may add half a cup of milk and mix well.
- Add this mix to the sieved whole wheat flour and whisk well.
- Add vanilla essence and mix well again.
- Pour this atta jaggery cake batter onto a dusted baking pan.
- Place the pan in a preheated oven. Bake at 180 degrees celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- Not all ovens work similarly, so while baking please double check. Keep a time span of 30 minutes to 1 hour for baking this cake. You can check after 30 minutes if the cake is done or not.
- Also please do not open the oven door until ¾ of the cake is done.
Your Wheat Cake With Jaggery should appear golden brown on top and when you insert a toothpick or wooden skewer in the atta cake, it should come out clean.
Let the whole wheat cake cool completely, before you serve it.
